Hi everyone,
We have made arrangements for the boys to help make Christmas Food Hampers at the St. Albert Food Bank on Wed Dec 20th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm (we could be done a bit early, it depends on how quick the boys are). The boys will be "shopping" in the food bank warehouse to fill bread boxes with non-perishable items for those St. Albert families that will need a Christmas Hamper. We hope that our boys will be able to build approximately 120 hampers in the time they have been allotted.
Suzan, the executive director of the St. Albert Community Village, and Diane the Volunteer Coordinator for the food bank will take a moment at the beginning of our event to explain to the boys why the Hampers are so important and what it means to the families who receive them.
The St. Albert Food Bank is located at #30-50 Bellerose Drive (just past Canadian Tire - behind the Police Overflow parking ). Please come to the volunteer door which is on the side of the building closest to the river and Diane will be there to greet the boys.
Please ensure your son is wearing closed toed shoes along with their Sabres Hoodie.
A few parents are welcome to stay and help supervise and participate if they like - we do need some extra hands to ensure the boxes are filled correctly.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks,
Krimsen
